SEVEN DOORS NO.5 - 2nd POST: JUST SAY YES

If the words "Total Mass Retain" or " Moon gate, climber, Turn round, glider" ring any bells for you, it's possible you'll enjoy my 'Epiphanies' piece in UK-based music magazine The Wire this month. That's right, I'm spreading the love for British Progressive Rock giants Yes. The Wire is published monthly - the issue in question, #310, is out now dated December 2009, and features the artist known as Sensational on the cover.

  1. Great article Steve, someone had to fight their corner after some subtle swipes at the band in the King Crismson Primer elsewhere in the issue. I've never heard much Yes - I've always been sworn off them like the brown acid at Woodstock, but after reading the piece I may grab one of their LPs and find a quiet palce in the country and see what happens...

  2. Hi Wes,
If you take the plunge, you can't really go wrong with 'Close to the Edge'...!

  3. I haven't read the article, but I'm stunned by the fact that there's another person in the whole wide world who's also a big fan of YES and JESS FRANCO! I just can't believe it... I thought that I was the the only one who adores the band that makes the most heavenly music on Earth and the most perverse director of all times with the same enthusiasm.

  5. Another huge YES and Franco fan here! Actually, I think Franco is a bit of a prog fan anyway. I had a chat with him at one of the Eurofests and he expressed a fondness for Henry Cow. He'd even heard of my favourites Cardiacs. Looking forward to the book Stephen!
