ROOM 5 - UnicaZürn Live in Germany, 3rd July

Dave Knight and I will be showcasing our new band UnicaZürn next month, Saturday 3rd July, at the Avant-Garde Festival, Schiphorst, Germany. It's a wonderful occasion, organised by Jean-Hervé Peron of German rock legends Faust, located in a picturesque rural setting, and run by great people. Please do try to attend if it's remotely possible, I'm sure you'll find the whole event magnificent. The fantastic No-Wave genius Lydia Lunch and the legendary Gallon Drunk will also be playing - further details at www.avantgardefestival.de

Dave and I played the festival three years ago with our improvisation group The Amal Gamal Ensemble, and we can't recommend it enough - it's a chance to hang out and chat with friendly and interesting people in a relaxed and intimate atmosphere, and if you do make it, will probably go down in your memory as a genuine vacation rather than a gig! Hope to see a few of you there...

  1. Hi,

Just discovered your blog. Looks interesting so will check it out.

I actually had a question about your book Nightmare USA. I was about to buy a copy but notice that there is a hardback and a paperback edition. Could you explain if there is any difference between the two other than the binding? I just noticed that one has a different amount of pages than the other. I'd like the buy the best edition available.

I'm an ordained Reverend by the way who loves scary movies. I have a podcast, www.theflicksthatchurchforgot.com, which looks at horror films from a Christian angle. Odd, I know.

    Thanks

    Peter

  2. Hi Peter,
The first and second edition hardbacks are slightly different, as I made some very minor corrections and improvements to the text. The paperback is identical to the 2nd edition hardback. (the only difference in page count is down to an extra flyleaf in the hardback but the contents are the same).

Plenty of links between the horror genre and Christianity. The story of Job would make a great horror film.
